“Pledge a Present” for Christmas to support the Golden Mile
The Derby & Sandiacre Canal Trust is pleased to announce that the Draycott Canal Restoration Project, affectionately referred to as “The Golden Mile”, has now surpassed the £60,000 threshold towards the target of £100,000 worth of pledges; which will then allow match-funding to be sought to provide the full amount for the restoration.
This is fantastic progress, and is a testament to the ongoing support from the local community and businesses for the restoration of the Derby & Sandiacre Canal.
However, we still have some way to go towards the £100,000 target, so we’re encouraging our supporters to “Pledge a Present” this Christmas to help us reach our goal and make a restored “Golden Mile” a reality for everyone to enjoy!

This Christmas, why not forgo the traditional gift ideas and show your support for loved ones in the local community?
Provide a pledge to support the restoration of the first stretch of the Derby and Sandiacre Canal to go back into water, The Golden Mile. If loved ones are struggling to think of ideas for you this Christmas, why not suggest a pledge?
Once restored, the Golden Mile will provide just over 1km stretch of water, that will be able to be enjoyed by the local community as well as visitors from surrounding area.
