Dawn Rose pulled for 2 miles

Over £1,000 has been raised by sponsoring volunteers to pull narrow boat Dawn Rose along a two mile section of the Chesterfield Canal. We has a good turn out at Draycott today given the short notice with 6 folks turning up. As a result there were 3 bonfires to tidy up the hedge cuttings and all brambles cut near the bridge. As Mick had also turned up there was a hedge laying team too, so very well worthwhile. [...]

Just a quick reminder to anyone who is collecting wood from cutdown trees from the canal bed - please ensure you remove all wood/cut-offs to prevent regrowth. The below shows regrowth at Borrowash where some cracked willow was left in the canal bed. This area will now been to recleared. Thanks for your support.
