Our band of merry workers

We are actively involved in a range of voluntary tasks, over weekends and in our free time, to maintain and restore the entire canal corridor. Whether your interested in learning or participating in hedge laying, operating a chain saw or merely performing vegetation removal we have a role for you. This is a wonderful way of working outdoors, restoring our green space and providing a recognised service for residents bordering the canal corridor.

In addition to canal husbandry we also undertake major asset restoration and maintenance contracts of bridges, locks and even ground maintenance. Currently we have a service contract with Sustrans to maintain 1.5 miles of cycle route verges and we have organised and participated in work camps to rebuild Ullikers bridge and Borrowash bottom lock.

See Society News/Works Group for details.
