Derby & Sandiacre Canal Society

Welcome to the website for the Derby & Sandiacre Canal Society (information about the Trust can be found here). The Society is the membership and enthusiast section.

Throughout the year we have opportunities for volunteering. Currently we are hedgelaying, other activities proposed are the completion of restoration of Borrowash Bottom Lock.

We are also improving the A6 bridge at Wilmorton in conjunction with St Osmunds Church and Lakeside School.

The whole scheme includes:

• Restoration of the Derby & Sandiacre Canal
• The return of the River Derwent to Navigation
• The Building of the "Derby Arm" Boat Lift
