A date with Inside Out and East Midlands Today

The BBC will be filming, on the Derby Sandiacre canal route, two feature programmes. Firstly, a short East Midlands Today feature on the reinstatement of green heritage and secondly, a longer 'Inside Out' documentary on the economic benefits of reinstatement. The filming, scheduled for September 23rd, will be held at the following locations;

  1. Sandiacre Junction
  2. Cockaynes Bridge
  3. Draycott Ditch
  4. Ullikers Bridge
  5. Borrowash Bottom Lock
  6. Spondon Mile
  7. Derby Riverside Crossing
  8. Swarkeston Junction

We need members to turnout and demonstrate activities such as, hedge laying, vegetation removal, and masonry maintenance, along with cyclists, walkers etc. Let's not miss this golden opportunity to demonstrate the effort and demand to awake the sleeping giant. For those willing to participate, please call me or e.mail, Rob Hartley, rob.hartley@derbycanal.org.uk, 07841 380884.
